It's safe to say the Sacramento Kings have hit rock bottom on their five-game road trip and will take on the Orlando Magic Wednesday night from Amway Center.

The Kings are mired in a six-game losing streak and have dropped nine in a row on the road, including Tuesday's hard-fought 141-129 double-overtime loss against LeBron James and the Miami Heat. James had a season-high 40 points to go with a career-high 16 assists.

Marcus Thornton hit eight 3-pointers and netted 36 points to lead the Kings, who are just 5-26 away from home. The Kings led at halftime (53-51) and at the start of the fourth quarter (85-84).

"To be able to take that team into two overtimes, it just shows the testament of us growing," a positive Thornton said.

Tyreke Evans netted 26 points and DeMarcus Cousins finished with 24 and 15 rebounds in a losing cause. Cousins has registered double-doubles in four of his last five games, averaging 18.8 points and 11.6 rebounds in that time. He is leading the Kings in scoring (17.5 ppg) and rebounding (10.1 rpg).

Evans has scored 20-plus points in four of the past six contests.

John Salmons scored 15 points and Isaiah Thomas recorded 14 and a season high- tying nine assists in the loss to Miami.

Sacramento will end the trip Friday at San Antonio.

Meanwhile, the Magic hope to build on a recent win at Philadelphia when they commence a three-game homestand versus Sacramento, Houston and Memphis.

The Magic halted a five-game losing streak with a 98-84 triumph over the 76ers on Tuesday and were led by Arron Afflalo's 16 points and seven assists. Tobias Harris added 16 points off the bench and Andrew Nicholson chipped in 13 points for the Magic, who won for just the second time in the last 19 games.

"I think the guys deserved it. They put forth the kind of effort that deserved a win and that's what it's all about," Magic coach Jacque Vaughn said. "At the end of the day in this league, for the most part, you get what you deserve. Tonight we had a great effort and were able to do a lot of good things and we're just getting better."

Orlando is 9-20 in central Florida this season and could have point guard Jameer Nelson back in the lineup. Nelson has missed three straight games with a knee issue and is listed as questionable Wednesday.

The Magic suffered a 91-82 loss at Sacramento on Dec. 7 this season, but are 7-2 in the previous nine matchups between the teams.
