Recap: Atlanta vs. Washington

Jordan Parraz hit a solo home run and the Braves had 15 hits as Atlanta slugged its way past the Washington Nationals, 9-5, in a spring training clash on Tuesday.

Juan Francisco and Ramiro Pena each had two hits and an RBI apiece, while Freddie Freeman, B.J. Upton and Blake DeWitt each drove in a run for the Braves in the victory.

Mike Minor made the start for Atlanta. He surrendered a pair of first inning runs but struck out four batters over two frames.

Ross Detwiler and Ryan Perry were both shelled for the Nationals, as Detwiler made the start and gave up two runs on five hits over 2 2/3 innings. Perry struggled even more, surrendering five runs on six hits over just 1 2/3 innings in relief of the Washington starter.

Ian Desmond went 2-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs for the Nationals, who also got an RBI apiece from Tyler Moore, Anthony Rendon and Sandy Leon. Bryce Harper went 3-for-3 and scored two runs.
