Earth Learning, a nonprofit that promotes sustainable food production and consumption in South Florida, hosts a Chef’s Harvest Dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at The Farm at Verde Gardens, 12690 SW 280th St., Homestead.
A cocktail tour of the farm will precede a six-course farm-to-table feast by chef Aaron Dreilinger. The menu includes hog snapper ceviche, grilled lionfish with cellophane noodles, brown sugar-cured pork belly and mamey sorbet with coconut milk-tapioca bread pudding. Florida beer and wine pairings will accompany each course, with vegetarian and nonalcoholic options available.
Sitarist Stephan Mikes will perform, and historian Paul George will share stories about the area in an after-dinner chat.
Admission is $100, with proceeds benefitting the 22-acre organic farm. Reservations are required by Friday at 786-233-2784 or earth-learning.org.
Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly listed Jeffrey Brana as one of the participating chefs. It was based on outdated information on the Earth Learning website.
