Recap: LA Angels vs. Oakland

Seth Smith and Darwin Perez each recorded a pair of RBI on Sunday, as the Oakland Athletics defeated the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, 7-5, in spring training action.

Chris Young and Michael Choice added an RBI and a run scored apiece, while Scott Sizemore also knocked in a run for the A's, who dropped a 2-1 decision against Milwaukee on Saturday in their spring training opener.

Pat Neshek earned the victory after tossing a scoreless inning in relief.

Kole Calhoun, Brendan Harris and Kaleb Cowart each registered an RBI and a run scored, while Travis Witherspoon added an RBI for the Angles, who fell to 0-3 in spring training.

Andrew Taylor was tagged with the loss after giving up two runs on three hits and a walk over one full frame.

    Chicago Cubs pitcher Matt Garza will return to a major league mound for the first time in 10 months on Tuesday, with the team reinstating the right-hander from the 15-day disabled list to start against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

    When Jeremy Affeldt came to the Bay Area as an opposing player, he refused to leave his hotel room aside from going to and from the ballpark. He was admittedly homophobic.

  • Orioles Gonzalez reinstated from DL

    The Baltimore Orioles reinstated pitcher Miguel Gonzalez from the 15-day disabled list.
