Midway through the quarter, theGreen Wave made it a 10-point game, but were
unable to make thescore any closer. McKnight and center Maljhum McCrea were instrumental in theperiod, scoring a number of easy lay ups and dunks to help Norland take a20-point lead into the fourth quarter.

• Region 4-2A final – Westwood Christian 71, Zion Lutheran 48: Center Thiago Daconceicao was two blocks shy of a triple-double for the Warriors (26-5) in a regional final victory over the Lions (22-8) at Westwood Christian. Daconceicao had 17 points, 16 rebounds and eight blocks.
This is the first time in its 15-year history that Westwood’s boys; basketball team has advanced to the state semifinals.
Westwood jumped out to an early 7-0 lead. The Warriors went up 15-4 on a dunk by sophomore Eugenior Joseph. Guard Daniel Ramis scored 17 first half points. The Warriors led 38-27 at the half.
In the third quarter Westwood went up 50-34 thanks to back-to-back three pointers by Ramis and guard Gabriel Gonzalez.
The Warriors’ defense prevented a Lions’ rally and held Zion to seven points in the fourth. After the win, Westwood players and head coach Jose Amat cut down the net.
Daniel Ramis had a game-high 24 points. Forward Armond Shoon score 13 points and had 6 steals.
