Recap: San Diego vs. Seattle

Jason Bay and Justin Smoak each hit a two-run home run on Saturday as Seattle continued Cactus League play with an 8-6 win over San Diego.

Mike Jacobs also hit a two-run home run while John Hicks went 2-for-2 with a run scored for the Mariners, who finished in last place in the AL West last season with a record of 75-87.

Blake Beavan pitched two scoreless innings in the start for Seattle.

Jeudy Valdez hit a two-run home run and drove in three runs for the Padres, who posted a 76-86 record last season for a fourth place finish in the NL West.

Tyson Ross was tagged for two runs on three hits in two innings of starting work for San Diego.
