The Sports Network

Lance Zawadzki belted a grand slam on Saturday to help the new-look Toronto Blue Jays open their spring training slate with a 10-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers.

Ryan Goins added a three-run blast, while Dave Bush earned the win after pitching two scoreless innings in relief for the Blue Jays, who made a number of splashes in the offseason in acquiring shortstop Jose Reyes, outfielder Melky Cabrera, and reigning NL Cy Young winner R.A. Dickey.

Prince Fielder smacked a two-run homer and reigning AL MVP Miguel Cabrera added a solo shot for the defending AL champions, who opened their spring training schedule with a 2-1 win over Atlanta on Friday.

Detroit starter Anibal Sanchez allowed three hits over two scoreless frames, while Ryan Robowski was charged with the loss after giving up Zawadzki's blast in the sixth.
