Jelena Jankovic ended her championship drought with a resounding win over Argentina's Paula Ormaechea in Sunday's final at the Copa Claro Colsanitas tennis event.
The top-seeded Serbian needed just 74 minutes to dispose of the first-time WTA finalist in a 6-1, 6-2 rout.
Jankovic captured her 13th career title and first since her triumph at Indian Wells in 2010.
Ormaechea's best previous WTA result was reaching the quarterfinals here last year.
Sixth seed Fabio Fognini and French crowd favorite Gael Monfils were among Tuesday's first-round winners at the $530,000 Nice Open, a final clay-court French Open tune-up.
World No. 2 Andy Murray will not participate in the upcoming French Open due to a back injury.
Seventh seed Viktor Troicki pressed on, while former world No. 3 Nikolay Davydenko suffered an opening-round upset at the inaugural $530,000 Power Horse Cup, a final French Open tune-up.
