Infant found abandoned in a stroller in Pompano Beach


Broward Sheriff’s Office Thursday afternoon was investigating the discovery of a newborn baby on the edge of a Pompano Beach parking lot.

A passerby found the baby boy around 5:45 p.m. on the 200 block of Northeast First Street. It umbilical cord was still attached.

The baby, who is in good condition and believed to be days old, was transported by Pompano Beach Fire Rescue to Holy Cross Hospital to be checked out.

Authorities are searching for the boy’s mother.
