Attempted absentee ballot fraud in Miami-Dade's August primaries

 

Fraudsters programmed a computer to make 2,552 absentee ballot requests in three races (see districts below). The scheme didn't work. But it could have.

Fraudulent absentee ballot requests:

Republican ballot
Democratic ballot
Other party ballot

Florida House District 103: The Republican primary pitted Renier Diaz de la Portilla against Manny Diaz Jr.

Florida House District 112: Another GOP primary, another Diaz de la Portilla – Renier's brother Alex. He faced Gus Barreiro. The brothers shared campaign consultants.

Congressional District 26: The Democratic primary featured Justin Lamar Sternad, suspected of being a ringer put up by GOP incumbent David Rivera to siphon votes from Joe Garcia. Friday, Sternad was charged with lying on campaign reports
