The Davie Town Council will discuss funding a new gym for the Rick and Rita Case Boys & Girls Club at its meeting Wednesday evening.

The town, which leases property to the club, plans to fund about half of the gym’s projected cost of slightly less than $2 million with federal money received through the Community Development Block Grant program.

Hollywood-based Coastal Contracting and Development, Inc. won a bid to construct the 11,000-square-foot gym building next to the club at 7525 NW 33rd St.

The new gym will house offices and a meeting space as well as a gymnasium with exercise equipment.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Davie Town Hall, 6591 Orange Dr.
