Notes
The series has competed at Daytona once each season since 2000. Todd Bodine is the only driver who has multiple truck victories at Daytona. Bodine, a two- time series champion, won at this 2.5-mile track in 2008 and '09. He is entered in this year's race, driving the No. 13 Toyota for ThorSport Racing.
Other truck race winners at Daytona include: Mike Wallace (2000), Joe Ruttman (2001), Robert Pressley (2002), Rick Crawford (2003), Carl Edwards (2004), Bobby Hamilton (2005), Mark Martin (2006), Jack Sprague (2007), Timothy Peters (2010), Michael Waltrip (2011) and John King (2012).
Bodine, Peters and King are those drivers entered in this weekend's NextEra Energy Resources 250 that have won a previous truck race at Daytona.
In just his eighth career Truck Series start, King pulled off a stunning victory in last year's race at Daytona. King held the lead for the third and final attempt at a green-white-checkered finish. As the field crossed the start/finish line to complete the second-to-last lap, Joey Coulter got bumped from behind and then flew into the catchfence on the frontstretch before he flipped around and tumbled back down on the track. The race ended under caution, with King awarded the win. Coulter walked away from the crash unscathed.
King joined Pressley and Waltrip as those drivers who claimed their maiden truck win at Daytona.
A Toyota driver has won the truck race at Daytona the past six years. The last time a Ford went to Daytona's Victory Lane for a truck event was in 2006 with Martin. Chevrolet has yet to win a race in the series at this track.
The truck event at Daytona has been won from the pole three times: Ruttman (2001), Martin (2006) and Sprague (2007). Hamilton won the 2005 race from the 36th starting position, which is the furthest back a driver has started and won a truck event at Daytona.
This race has featured a green-white-checkered finish five times (2001, '03, '06, '11 and '12). Last year's race took three g-w-c attempts.
The closest margin of victory for a truck race at Daytona occurred in 2003 when Crawford edged Travis Kvapil by only 0.027 seconds. The greatest margin of victory for this event happened in 2001 when Ruttman beat Ricky Hendrick by just 0.318 seconds.
David Starr is the only driver who has competed in all of the 13 previous truck races at Daytona.
Those drivers entered in this race that made their first career start in the Truck Series at Daytona include: Justin Lofton (2010) and Coulter (2011).
The Camping World Truck Series is off for the next five weeks before returning to action with the April 6 Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway. Kevin Harvick won last year's race there.
