I thought Jose Azel’s Feb. 13 Other Views column, Paternalism run amok, made a good point on paternalism and over regulation.
However, on further thought, the recent case of the poisoning of users of a compound pharmaceutical where the FDA and state regulators seemed to lack sufficient authority to oversee these operations would call for more, rather than less regulation.
