I am a strong and faithful Obama supporter, but I don’t understand why he hasn’t offered a proposal to cut expenses and reform tax collections. Everyone knows we must reduce spending. We cannot expect that economic growth will bail us out of our debt. So why not say it: We need to gradually increase the Social Security age to 67, adjust Medicare premiums up, proportionally reduce some Medicare benefits and/or increase the co-pay, slash defense spending on programs designed to fight the last war, eliminate corporate welfare, repatriate off-shore capital and reduce corporate taxes. Put that proposal forward, and the Republicans will have to put up or shut up.
It’s time for you to step up, Mr. President. Please.
