A person’s true value can only be measured by the many kind deeds performed where no recognition is desired or received. Michelle Obama did the correct thing reaching out to the Chicago family of Hadiya Pendleton. Would it have been a more wise decision not to attend the funeral in person so that the United States government and the city of Chicago wouldn’t have been burdened by added expenses and increased tension? In retrospect, an invite to her Chicago home for lunch in an intimate setting may have been more appropriate.
