The night of Feb. 12 was the perfect example of the Republican Party’s suicidal tendencies. Sen. Marco Rubio, having spent his work day voting against the renewal of the Violence Against Women Act, was selected to represent the party in rebutting President Obama’s State of the Union address. This is the party’s immigration stance all over again, except that this time they aren’t taking on a large and growing minority. Hasn’t anyone noticed that women make up more than half the electorate?
This is a plea to those Republicans who remember when the party represented America first and party loyalty second. Don’t run away. You’ll be creating a one-party country if you do.
