Two not-so different worlds collided during a photo shoot for the “Ballet and Basketball” campaign, a collaboration between the Miami Heat and Miami City Ballet to celebrate both organizations’ 25 years in the Magic City.
You’ll start seeing billboards of Heat superstars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade posing with two MCB principals, sisters Jeanette and Patricia Delgado, respectively.
Dancers are athletes, too, though they may not be able to pull off a slam dunk. In a promotional video for B&B, Wade said he sometimes feels like a graceful ballerina when jumping in the air to make a shot. “It’s great to put the two [disciplines] together.”
James has a real appreciation for the arts. “What those ladies do . . . it’s unique,” added James. “They do poses I know I could never get into.”
