Letter writer Richard Braverman praises Dolphins owner Stephen Ross for his commitment to our community as he attempts, and more than likely will get, taxpayer money for his stadium improvements. The writer notes the beauty of Marlins Park as he drives by the facility. I, too, drive by it, but I see it differently.
I see a stadium that has been covered in tarp in order to stop water leaks from welding defects, and is already yellowing and filthy. I see a money-losing stadium with mostly empty seats, built with taxpayer dollars. I see what a mistake it was to allow taxpayer money to be given to millionaires without voters’ input.
We are lucky to have people like Norman Braman, who realizes how wrong it is to give away billions to people who never needed it in the first place.
