I’ve been a Miami resident for over 50 years and I’m appalled that they would allow destruction of another historical structure just because of the buyer’s money status. The buyers do not have appreciation for old architecture and construction. They obviously haven’t seen the beautiful renovations that owners have done to 1920s, ‘30s and ‘40s homes.
Miami must protect all of our old structures since there’s not too much architectural history compared to other cities. The destruction of the Main Miami library long ago was one example of total disrespect for our history, architecture and our citizens. What we don’t need is another modern mega-mansion.
