Homeless man shot on roof of Florida Atlantic University building


A homeless man armed with a knife was shot and wounded Friday on the roof of a research building at Florida Atlantic University.

The homeless man moved toward officers with the knife, according to police.

“Officers were presented with what we believed to be a threat, and they dealt with that threat,” Boca Raton Police Chief Dan Alexander told the Palm Beach Post.

The wounded man was taken to the hospital.

The area of the shooting is away from classroom buildings and the campus was not put on a lockdown ,according to reports.
