An elderly woman drove a Nissan Murano through the front of Havana's Cuban Cuisine, 10035 Sunset Strip in Sunrise, just before noon Wednesday, destroying the bar area and customer counter.
Surveillance video shows employee Edwin Perez, 29, diving out of the way as the car plows about 10 feet into the restaurant. He needed stitches on his legs, said Duree Ross, daughter of restaurant owner Michael Nellion.
The driver was cited for losing control of the vehicle but was not seriously injured, according to the Sun Sentinel.
The restaurant remains open.
