I will not debate that charter schools receive money that otherwise would go to public schools.
However, one should keep in mind that taxpayers’ children attend public charter schools as well. Of greater importance should be the question: Why are parents removing their children from schools in which, according to letter writer Sharon Graham Watson, they are receiving a world-class education, and sending them to charter schools?
In the case of my grandson, and several of his schoolmates, he was removed from a flagship public school and put into a charter school where he is indeed receiving the world-class education he deserves.
