A Miami Gardens mail carrier who was attacked by two dogs while on duty remained in the hospital Wednesday, but doing better, officials said.
Emogene Powell 55, was making her rounds in the 1400 block of Northwest 191st Street about 5 p.m. Tuesday when two dogs jumped a fence and attacked her. She was bitten and scratched in the face, arms and legs.
She was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, where she remained in stable condition Wednesday afternoon.
Postal Service spokeswoman Debbie Fetterly said Powell may be in the hospital for a few more days.
“She just wants to recover and relax,” Fetterly said.
