The intersection of Palm Avenue and 60th Street in Hialeah was expected to reopen shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday after an accident shut it for more than three hours.

About 6:45 p.m., Hialeah police responded to 911 calls about the accident, spokesman Eddie Rodriguez said. A motorcycle and an SUV had collided, flipping the motorcyclist onto the roof of the car.

The motorcyclist, a 28-year-old man who was not immediately identified, was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital in serious condition, where he remained Tuesday night.
