It has been months since Hollywood leaders have gotten an update on the $130 million Margaritaville Beach Resort — a 350-room and restaurant complex on the beach.

But that will change Wednesday when City Manager Cathy Swanson-Rivenbark and Developer Lon Tabatchnik are expected to give a presentation on the project’s progress.

Neither would give details Tuesday of their presentations.

In September, City Commissioners approved a new financing plan that allowed Tabatchnik to work out a deal with Starwood Capital, the company that once financed high-end hotels including St. Regis, W, Westin and Sheratons globally.

At the time, Tabatchnik had a non-binding commitment with the company to invest in the project.

The presentation will be given during a joint Community Redevelopment Agency and commission meeting at 2 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 2600 Hollywood Blvd.

The commission will also take up topics including an ordinance to allow live animals at special events and an ordinance dealing with towing from private property.
