Silver Stars' Young tears ACL

The Sports Network

San Antonio Silver Stars forward Sophia Young has suffered a torn ACL in her right knee.

Young sustained the injury while participating in the semifinals of the Women's Chinese Basketball Association on Jan. 24 and an MRI exam confirmed the tear. A timetable for her 2013 season return won't be determined until she begins the rehabilitation process.

Young was named to the WNBA's All-Defensive Team and earned All-WNBA Second Team honors in 2012. She led the Silver Stars with 16.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.24 steals per game.
