Sometimes getting older pays off.
Denzel Washington and Judi Dench won the top acting prizes by this year’s Movies for Grownups Awards, presented by AARP, which celebrate actors over 50 and films made for older audiences, according to People.com.
Dench, 78, was celebrated for her work on The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, also starring Bill Nighy, Maggie Smith and Tom Wilkinson, which was also named best picture. Washington, 58, won for his performance as alcoholic airline pilot Whip Whitaker in Flight. Among the other honorees this year are Jacki Weaver for Silver Linings Playbook, John Goodman for his supporting role in Flight, and director Steven Spielberg for Lincoln.
