The family of South Beach chef Stefano Riccioletti, killed in a hit-and-run Monday as he walked to work at a nearby hotel, has set up an online fund in his memory.
Riccioletti was a well-respected chef, most recently in the Terrazza restaurant at the Shore Club.
He is survived by three children: Jacopo, 18, who lives in Italy, and Camilla, 12, and Filippo, 8, who live in the Miami area.
Riccioletti’s sister-in-law Eliana Pesce said in an email that she set up the fund because many people had contacted her wanting to give financial assistance to Riccioletti’s family rather than sending flowers or notes.
The fund is online at http://www.giveforward.com/stefanoricciolettifund.
One donor left a message for the family, saying, “May God give you strength and peace in this time of sorrow. Remember the joy and the beautiful smile that Stefano brought in your life.”
