Hialeah-Miami Lakes, Goleman, Mater Academy and Mourning will move to District 16-7A. The moves leave District 16-6A with five teams — Central, Northwestern, Norland, Carol City and Homestead.

COACHING CHANGE

Miami High announced the hiring of Ivan Rosales as its new football coach this week. Rosales, a Miami High alum, played for the Stingarees in the early 1990s and is a graduate of FIU.

Rosales was the offensive coordinator at Reagan the past four seasons and coached there since 2005. The Bison offense averaged 35.3 points per game last season en route to its best season in school history, finishing with a 9-1 record.

Rosales replaces Frank Welsh, who led the Stingarees to its last playoff appearance in 2010.

SOCCER

The Dade County Soccer Coaches Association will have a meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at Coral Park High to discuss its All-Star teams and particulars for several All-Star games, including the FACA, Dade County senior games, Soccer Locker small-school games, and Fort Lauderdale Strikers/Broward All-Star games.
