I was in the process of sending my sister, who lives in Puerto Rico, a smoke extractor for her new kitchen.
I went to the UPS store in Pinecrest where they quoted $260 and FedEx’s fee was $280 for a two- to three-day delivery. I thought I might as well buy a plane ticket and deliver it myself.
Finally, I went to the U.S. Postal Service where, for a total of $80 paid on a Friday afternoon, it would be delivered by Monday, Tuesday at the latest.
Gee, I thought everyone wanted to have USPS go out of business.
Not me. I’ll be using the postal service more often.
