A pickup truck carrying nuclear medications crashed into a tree Thursday morning in Hialeah, killing the driver and sending a hazmat team to the scene.
The accident happened at about 9:45 a.m. A white Ford Ranger pickup truck crashed into a tree at the Northwest 57th Avenue entrance to westbound Gratigny Parkway westbound. The driver, a 65-year-old man, died at the scene.
Police are still investigating the cause of death.
A hazmat team tested the area for chemical and radiation hazards but did not find anything, Hialeah Fire Rescue Capt. Cesar Espinosa said.
Police said there’s no danger to drivers in the area and traffic is not blocked.
