I say Miami Dade County should give the Dolphins all the money they need to renovate their stadium.
Give them the money the same way the federal government gave money to the U.S. automakers — in exchange for stock. Our share should also get a piece of the income from concessions, ticket sales, parking, stadium naming, stadium rental, television rights, special events, and any other means the Dolphins use to bring income in from the stadium.
The perks that are part of minority ownership, like season tickets, sky-boxes, etc. would be sold, and all proceeds to Miami-Dade County general fund — and in the end we retain the right to sell our share on the open market.
