I was reading the Jan. 13 Herald and came across an interesting article, Armed vigilante groups policing 2 towns. As the debate over gun control and more specifically, assault weapons has heated up again, I often hear supporters of banning these firearms ask: Why do you need an assault weapon?
Well, the answer can be found in this article. It appears that the folks in those two towns couldn’t rely on their government to protect them so they needed to do it themselves. And I bet they wouldn’t mind having a 30-round magazine to keep the murderous drug cartels at bay.
