A would-be robber shot and killed after exchanging gunfire with a store clerk at a Hollywood gas station has been identified as Cory Miller, 23, of Dania Beach.
Police say Miller and 19-year-old Joshua Stuart tried to rob the store at an Exxon gas station at 5190 S. State Road 7 late Monday night but were thwarted by Hasib Kuric, a homeless man who warned the store clerk of the impending attack. Miller started firing a gun and the store clerk, 45-year-old Leonard Carr, fired back, killing Miller, police said.
Stuart is now facing charges of burglary, attempted murder and second-degree felony murder for the death of Miller
