There was no stopping Coral Springs Christian 6-7 star forward Nura Zanna against District 14-3A favorite and SourceHoops Class 3A No. 2 Sagemont on Wednesday night.

Zanna had a game-high 26 points and 15 rebounds, and converted the winning three-point play with 4.6 seconds left in overtime as the No. 9 Crusaders (13-6) stormed back from a 30-19 halftime deficit to beat the visiting Lions 50-49.

“This was an unbelievable win,” Crusaders coach Steve Fitzgerald said. “There were times we could have gone down by 20 points but our kids just kept fighting. As for Big Z, he was just incredible. I’m just savoring every game with him before he graduates.”

Sagemont went up 45-37 with 3:36 left in the fourth quarter on Egor Koulechov’s three-pointer before the Crusaders went on a 10-2 run, keyed by Bobby Bell’s three-pointer to take a 46-45 lead with 2:07 left in regulation.

Joe Kirby led the Lions with 19 points.
