Wine dinners at Edge, Fontainebleau

 

Wine educator Barry Alberts hosts a dinner at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Edge Steak & Bar at the Four Seasons, 1435 Brickell Ave., Miami, featuring the sought-after wares of Napa Valley’s Pahlmeyer Winery. The evening will be co-hosted by Cleo Pahlmeyer, daughter of the winery’s owner. Cost is $120 plus tax and tip, and reservations are required; 305-381-3190.

The Fontainebleau Miami Beach inaugurates its Cellar 1954 Wine & Dinner Series on Tuesday with an evening devoted to Bertani Winery. The series continues with Opus One Winery Jan. 24, Kosta Browne Winery Feb. 21, Vérité Winery March 14 and Dunn Vineyards April 17. Each dinner begins at 8 p.m. and costs $195 plus tax and tip; 305-674-4706.

Stefano Campanini, owner of downtown Miami’s Wine by the Bay, is hosting VIP tastings Friday through Sunday aboard the yacht SeaFair as part of Miami International Art Fair (see story, Page 1E). Tickets are $100, and space is limited; mia-artfair.com.

Mojo Restaurant and Lounge, 4140 N. Federal Hwy., Fort Lauderdale, is offering half-price bottles of wine on Thursday evenings with purchase of an entrée by everyone at the table; 954-568-4443.

    ’Check, Please!’ returns Monday

    The Coral Gables Museum, 285 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables, celebrates the 500th anniversary of Ponce de Leon’s Florida encounter with a presentation on the history, culture and architecture of Granada accompanied by “a generous sampling” of Spanish wines. Tickets are $30 at 305-603-8067.
