South Florida Beer Week Jan. 19-26

 
 

 
 

Our burgeoning craft-beer industry has declared Jan. 19-26 South Florida Beer Week. Here are three ways to celebrate:

Riverside Market & Florida Beer Company, 608 SW 12th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, gets a jump on things with a tap takeover at 7 p.m. Friday featuring the release of Gaspar’s Porter and Devil’s Triangle IPA; 954-358-8333.

OTC, 1250 S. Miami Ave., Miami, presents $12-$15 pairings from 5 p.m. to closing Tuesday including maduro-braised short rib and brie grilled cheese with Cigar City Maduro Brown Ale and beer-battered shrimp and corn fritters with Monk in the Trunk Belgian Amber Ale; 305-374-4612.

The Hollywood Craft Beer Pub Crawl kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 24 at Tipsy Boar, 1906 Harrison St., with stops at the Native Tap Room, Whiskey Tango, The Big Easy Bar & Grille and Mickey Byrnes. A $10 donation is requested for Covenant House.

  • Beer dinner at Biscayne Tavern

    Biscayne Tavern, 146 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, launches a craft-beer dinner series at 7 p.m. June 25. The five-course, $45 meal, orignally scheduled for June 18, will be paired with Brewery Ommegang beers, and guests will be sent home with a goodie bag. Menu highlights include candied swine with Iron Throne Blonde Ale and short-rib post roast with Abbey Dubbel Ale. Reservations requested at 305-307-8300.

    Pop-up dinner at Harry’s Pizza

    Harry’s Pizzeria, 3918 N. Miami Ave., Miami, hosts chef Jeff Michaud, a James Beard Award winner from Philadelphia’s Osteria, for a pop-up dinner at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The evening includes a cocktail, hors d’oeuvres, four-course meal with wine and beer and a take-home bottle of limoncello for $150 including tax and tip.
