Killers in the bill

 

Re the Jan. 11 article, Cliff deal a lesson on how Congress works: President Obama is trying to protect the innocent from firearms that don’t kill, while Congress gave rum makers $222 million in tax rebates. Our president is trying to remove a segment of a product that has been utilized to bring about pain and death. Meanwhile, Congress has rewarded the makers of demon rum so they can make greater profits destroying families with their product.

    Adding beds won’t solve homeless problem

    Re the June 14 story City to add 15 beds at shelters: Over the last several weeks our community has watched several Miami commissioners’ efforts to deal with the homeless population in and around the downtown urban core.

  • Obama no war monger

    There are, of course, many reasons to be grateful that President Obama defeated Sen. John McCain in 2008. But perhaps Syria is the biggest reason.

  • Team’s conduct unbecoming

    Shame on the Miami Heat players, team management and the NBA for the deportment of the Heat players during the playing of the National Anthem before Game 4. Their disrespect was reprehensible and warrants immediate action by the league office. Not one of them rendered appropriate honor to our nation. They looked like a bunch of thugs.
