Many thanks for the Jan 10 article, Cliff deal a lesson on how Congress works. The actions of Sen. Bill Nelson and Rep. Vern Buchanan are disgraceful.
They, like an obvious majority of our other elected representatives, talk the talk of budget deficits and controlling spending, but walk the walk of disingenuous backstabbing of those who elected them.
I note with sadness that the so-called “revenue portion” of the fiscal cliff legislation actually increases our deficit, in part by spending $49 billion in new tax expenditures on corporate giveaways. Is anyone surprised that while our taxes will go up, the mega rich who own NASCAR, America’s railroads, Goldman Sachs and others who, coincidentally, make major campaign donations to elected officials get tax breaks?
When will we recall this fact on an Election Day?
