The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department issued a warning Monday to alert residents in several areas of Coral Gables and nearby locations that they may see cloudy water while the agency replaces pipe segments in the area.

The department began work to replace segments of a 48-inch waterline on Wednesday. The project, expected to last three weeks, may cause cloudy water for customers. The water will be safe to drink and will not require boiling, the department said. If your water is cloudy in this period, simply let the tap run until it clears.

Traffic also may be affected by the work. Pipe replacement locations include:

• Miller Road (Southwest 56th Street) and Southwest 73rd Avenue. One westbound lane will be closed on Miller between Southwest 69th and 73rd Avenues.

• Blue Road and University Drive – intermittent traffic delays are expected.

• LeJeune Road and Vilabella Avenue. One southbound lane will be closed on LeJeune between Vilabella and Ponce de Leon Boulevard.
