North Broward Prep girls’ soccer rolls over Calvary Christian

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Behind a game-high 26 points, 10 rebounds and five steals from LSU commit Raigyne Moncrief, the American Heritage girls’ basketball team (12-3) shocked two-time defending Class 5A state champion Dillard 62-55.

ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Sara Fayerweather, St. Thomas Aquinas, girls’ soccer: Fayerweather scored the lone goal to lift the Raiders (18-0) to a 1-0 win over Kingwood (Texas).

Romario Anderson, Coral Springs, wrestling: Anderson won the 195-pound class as the Colts took the Coral Springs Duals title.

Alex Britton, Pine Crest, boys’ soccer: Britton’s goal held up as the Panthers (17-3-1) blanked University School 1-0.

Darrion Allen, Blanche Ely, boys’ basketball: The senior guard exploded for a game-high 27 points, highlighted by five three-pointers and two dunks, to help the MaxPreps No. 17 Tigers rally for a 72-60 victory over Class 8A No. 1 Deerfield Beach.

Cassie Zero, South Florida HEAT, girls’ soccer: Zero scored both goals to lead the HEAT (13-6-4) to a 2-1 win over Calvary Christian.

Marvin Jean-Pierre, Boyd Anderson, boys’ basketball: The high-flying 6-4 wingman had a game-high 18 points and eight rebounds to help the Cobras storm back from a 12-point halftime deficit to defeat Northeast 47-45.

Matthew Maldonado, Hollywood Hills, boys’ soccer: Maldonado had two goals to lead the Spartan (8-7-2) to a 3-0 victory over Boyd Anderson.

Teylah Harris, Fort Lauderdale, girls’ basketball: The senior forward scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Flying L’s over Archbishop McCarthy 37-32.

Alicia Mardis, Coconut Creek, girls’ basketball : Mardis had a game-high 17 points to lead the Cougars (15-0) over Northeast 49-36.

Hannif Cheatham and Justin Satchell, Pines Charter, boys’ basketball: Cheatham and Satchell each scored a game-high 25 points to help the Jaguars pull away for a 89-79 double-overtime victory over upset-minded Flanagan.

Jason Fitzgerald, Douglas, boys’ soccer: Fitzgerald had three goals to lead the Eagles (8-8-1) over Everglades 4-0.

Scott Simmons, Cooper City, wrestling: Simmons won the 120-pound class to help the Cowboys beat Dillard 57-21.
