Recent events remind us how sacred our children are to us. We all share in the joy when a child’s potential is realized, and are saddened when it is not.
At Big Brothers Big Sisters, we see the life-changing positive impact a volunteer can make in a child.
One hundred percent of the children in our school-based program were promoted, 86 percent improved school attendance, and 97 percent improved school behavior.
Our School to Work program served 425 high school students at 24 corporate sites.
We helped improve Miami’s high school graduation rate from 62 to 78 percent. Each young person who finds his or her way to becoming a productive citizen, a caring parent and/or a helpful neighbor makes a positive impact on South Florida.
January is National Mentoring Month. Get involved in building the power of potential in our youth and our community! Visit www.wementor.org or call 305-644-0066.
