In the Jan. 9 People in Sports section, an item about former Miami Hurricanes football players Reggie Wayne and Ray Lewis says, “Coincidentally, this is a case of Hurricane-on-Hurricane crime, with both players attending the University of Miami, although a few years apart.”
What was the crime? The Baltimore Ravens’ Lewis doing a couple of “squirrel dances” in celebration of his final home game? The Indianapolis Colts’ Wayne saying it was disrespectful?
Or is the crime simply being former Hurricanes?
The crime was committed by the Fox Sports reporter who flippantly threw in the crime line, and by the editor who didn’t delete it.
