Re the Jan. 4 article, Return of the crane: Apparently these cranes are a part of the landscape necessary for the construction of new condos or apartment units. I didn’t bother to actually add them up, but it seems that at least a thousand more units are being built.
Let us consider that a few developers will get even richer and there will be temporary jobs for some construction workers.
Many more cars will clog our streets; thousands of additional toilets will flush waste into our waters.
Greater demands for energy will increase pollution; and our overcrowded schools will have to make room for even more children.
This is a good thing?
