Who will pay for train platform mistake?

Re the Jan. 6 article, At new Miami train station, too-short platform to require costly fixes: Amtrak informed the FDOT contractors that the platform at the airport is too short for some of their trains after all of the plans were previously approved by Amtrak.

The FDOT says “now you tell me.” Amtrak shrugged. But Amtrak doesn’t need the long platform all of the time. That’s the answer. Don’t extend the platform, let Amtrak use only the short trains at the airport, load the passengers and go to where they have the other coaches and add them on. Make it their problem.

Otherwise the bill for the mistakes of intelligent, talented people will have to be paid by the taxpayers. And I bet that nobody gets reprimanded.

Bravo to the IRS for doing their job. With Tea Partiers dedicated to overthrowing the government, forcefully if necessary, why should they receive tax-exempt status?
