Re the Dec. 29 article, Adoptions by Americans are outlawed: I can offer many reasons why it’s wrong for the United States to criticize Russia and attack Vladimir Putin for human rights violations. Banning the adoption of Russian children in retaliation is only the tip of the iceberg. Putin is very intelligent and does not have to justify his actions to anyone.
None of our allies criticized Putin or Russia on their human rights policies in such a non-diplomatic manner. We could accomplish more in a quiet, diplomatic way; we don’t have to be the policemen and judges of the world. And, the U.S. shouldn’t get involved in the internal affairs of any other country until all of our problems have been solved.
