Hagel’s Middle East views alarming

It’s troubling that President Obama should consider Charles Hagel as Secretary of Defense. Hagel’s views on the Middle East are particularly alarming. In August 2006, Hagel refused to declare Hezbollah a terrorist organization while it had the blood of hundreds of Americans on its hands.

He also has demonstrated an unusual lack of sympathy for a reliable ally, Israel. During his 12 years in the Senate, he demonstrated opposition to initiatives with regard to confronting Iran and terrorism. Finally, Hagel’s assertion that “the political reality is that the Jewish lobby intimidates a lot of people up here” is extremely troubling. His thoughts are an insult to anyone.

I guess Obama isn’t concerned anymore with the Jewish vote since he doesn’t have to campaign any longer. Americans have a disturbing picture of what could be expected from Hagel as Defense Secretary.

    Teachers risk their lives

Between the horrific shooting in Connecticut and the devastating tornado in Oklahoma, schools, tragically, have been at the epicenter of the carnage. In both cases, teachers put their lives on the line to protect their charges, innocent children, by placing themselves between the kids and harm’s way.
