George Lucas has stars in his eyes for his fiancée.

The Star Wars director, 68, finally popped the question. His soon to be bride is DreamWorks animation chairman Mellody Hobson, a rep for Lucasfilm confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. Hobson, 43, has hung in there with Lucas since 2006. This will be her first marriage; Lucas was married to film editor Marcia Lou Griffin, whom he divorced in 1983.

Hobson is also a contributor to Good Morning America.

They met at a business conference, Lucas told Oprah.

Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes is engaged to her ex-husband, Gregg Leakes, she told Jimmy Fallon. The couple divorced in 2011 after 13 years of marriage. Gregg had said that fame got to her head, according to Us Weekly. They have son, 13.

Sex symbol-turned-animal rights activist Brigitte Bardot is threatening to join actor Gerard Depardieu in Russian exile unless France halts the scheduled euthanasia of two sick circus elephants. The 1960s screen diva says authorities have ignored her “numerous proposals” to save Baby and Nepal, a pair of 42-year-old elephants dying of tuberculosis at a Lyon zoo. In a statement on her foundation’s website Bardot says that if the elephants are killed she will request Russian citizenship “to flee this country that is now just a graveyard for animals.”

Plane truth

The family of a makeup artist killed in a plane crash that also claimed the life of singer Jenni Rivera is trying to force the aircraft’s manufacturer to identify all those who had owned, operated and repaired the Learjet 25.

Rivera’s makeup artist, Jacob Yebale, was among the seven people killed when the aircraft crashed Dec. 9 in northern Mexico.

Yebale’s family filed a request this week in an Illinois court to compel Bombardier Aerospace and its Learjet division to turn over information on the aircraft’s history, including the names of all those who owned, operated and performed maintenance on the plane.
