Dade Christian earns accolades

 

Nearly a month after playing in the state finals for the first time, Miami Dade Christian’s football team earned some accolades Wednesday.

The Crusaders had four of their players named to the Florida Class 2A All-State team. Senior offensive lineman Danny Nunez, senior defensive lineman Aaron Batten and senior defensive back/wide receiver Terrance Alls earned first-team honors.

Senior quarterback Gary Sampson also earned honorable mention. Hialeah Champagnat Catholic’s Charles Williams earned honorable mention as well.

Pompano Beach Highlands Christian senior athlete Kyle Audet earned second-team honors as a punter.

He was the lone Broward County selection.

The Miami Herald will publish its All-County Fall Sports section Jan. 16. The section will include football, girls’ volleyball, swimming and diving, golf, cross-country and bowling.
