The Florida Supreme Court’s decision to invalidate the law dealing with blasting high volume radio noise from vehicles seems to have missed an important point. If an emergency vehicle was approaching with its siren requiring the right of way and for vehicles to pull over so as to allow it to pass, vehicles with their radios blasting would prevent other drivers from hearing it and thus delay or imperil those for whom emergency need was required.
It is one thing for those wishing to blast their radios and suffer eventual ear damage to do as they please, but another for them to imperil anyone else.
